Verses 11-16OCCASION OF THE REVELATION VERSE NO.7ِ10

Some of the flimsy objections of the wicked and ungodly have been mentioned in the above passage. They said that:ِ ``He is no more than a man like us. Why is he not an angel instead of a man? Why does he eat food and drink water? Why should he walk in the streets and markets like us? Why has God not given him a treasure or at least he has not a garden to provide his sustenance!''

They were of opinion that a man of high position and personality should not go to the market to buy what he needs, because this is the duty of his servants and personnels, to go after such trifles.

Those unbelievers did not want to think that the nature of an angel is different from that of a man. A teacher for mankind should share man's nature. Should know well the cause of Man's joy and sorrow, business and wedlock, and other social or natural problems. He should feel our pains and mingle with our life so as to be able to teach a lesson or to issue a useful injunction. If our prophet was an angel, he could add nothing except confusion to our social life.

From the whole passage we may understand that the heathens who were the prophet's sworn enemy, have gradually mitigated, and given a reduction to their expectations, as to how and who the Messenger of God should have been! At first, they said that the Messenger of God must be an angel. Then they said; at least a Messenger should be accompanied and assisted by an angel, so as to help him in his warnings.

After that they said, if the elect of God for His Messenger is to be a man, God should cast a treasure upon him to spend however he thinks it necessary.

Then they lowered down and said; at least the Messenger of God should have a big garden to satisfy his sustenance. Finally, they concluded that, he must be a possessed, or a poet, and dared to accuse him of madness.

The next verse answers all these childish charges in brief and through a short sentence:ِ

``See how did they strike similitudes for you and strayed so far, that they will not be able to find a way.''

As a matter of fact, ignorance had covered the eyes of the unbelievers so tightly and so thickly that they could not even differentiate between a tyrant king and prophet of God, who is sent as a Mercy to all the world.

If our prophet wanted to serve the best of foods and drinks, it could easily be provided for him, but he wanted to live with the common, unwealthy, people and live like them.

He milked his goat, swept his chamber, and washed his clothes; while he was so respected and held sacred among his companions and followers, that they snatched the splashes of his ablution for blessings!

And such was the nature of all the prophets of God! We already know that; Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh, the great tyrant, in the form of two shepherds with their shepherd sticks in hand, and wooled cloaks on.

They told Pharaoh; if you submit to your Lord and obey us we may guarantee your kingdom and respect, to remain for you!

Then Pharaoh said to his courtiers:ِ ``Are you all not astonished of what these two shepherds say!? They lay down a condition on me that my kingship and kingdom may depend on obeying and following their will!!! They say so while poverty and weakness is emitted from their whole existence!.''
