Verses 21-22Verses 17-20

Again the method of comparison has been used in the above passage, by discussing the state of the stubborn non-believer, compared with that of the real servant of God. One worships Taghut and serves Satan, where as the other worships no one and nothing other than God-the only One God, Who is the Merciful Creator of all the creatures.

Being the servant of anyone other than Allah, is being the servant of Taghut to catch us, or to attract our attention, to make us its slave. We must leave such deities and false gods, in order to make our religion pure for Allah, and hope for receiving a glad tiding from our Graceful God.

Then the reference is to a certain group of God's truthful servants who give ear to words, and follow the best of them.

We are of opinion that in this verse (NO.18), by word, any kind of word is meant, and it is not limited to the word of God, or to what the prophet has said, or what a preacher may say in his sermons.

A man who listens to all that is said and choses the best of it, is a man of understanding. As to the clause; ``Can you deliver him who is in the Fire?''

It has a fine implication that being among the companions of the Fire is so obvious from their nature and feature, that one may see that they are already now amid the Fireِthe Fire of their evil deeds. They have cut all their ways of connection and communication with Allah, and there is no other way before them except the way of Hell.

If a man has deliberately steeped in sin, and rejected the words of truth, none can help; because he ruins himself with his own hand.

But those who live a reasonable life, and avoid evil for the sake of God, the good end is theirs.

They will obtain salvation, and live in palaces of sublimity and architectural beauty, far from destruction and troubles. Such felicities are the promise of God and He will never fail his promises.
