THE COSTLY RESOURCES IN THE OCEANS.
VERSE NO. 19-25
Now the word is about the resources that are found in the oceans, and the immediate references to some seas of sweet water, and oceans that contain salty and bitter water:-
``He has let two seas side by side and in touch, but there is a barrier between them that do not mix!''
Usually, the great rivers that contains sweet water will eventually enter the sea which is salty and bitter. Due to their difference in density both of them at the point of contact remain separate, and do not mix with each other.
Worthy of note is that, during the high tide which the sea level is raised up, only the sweet waters are pushed back in the river bed to reach the farm lands, and not the salty water that may ruin the farms and fruits.
From both kinds of waters, we take wholesome fish and ornament gems, namely pearls and corals and other precious materials too.
Pearl is a costly gem which is cultured in Oyster, and the larger it is the dearer will it be. Pearl has many uses in the medicine.
Coral is a small living creature similar to a little branch of tree, which grows at the bottom of oceans. At first man knew it to be a kind of plant, but now it is proved to have been some sort of animal.
It grows and grows up,and gradually sticks to the bottom of the sea, and eventually makes islands and reefs. The best of gem coral is the red ones, and the more redish, the higher price it has. Coral too has several uses in the medical treatments.
*****
PEARL CORAL
These are minute marine creatures. Pearl is usually a roundish object formed within the body of a bivalve Mollusk.
The pearl of gem quality come primarily from marine oysters. Pearl has a translucent lustre usually white, pink or black. Natural gem pearls generally come from the region of the Persian GULF.
Large gem pearls are usually cultured, and their formation is artificially induced. Japan is the center of the cultured pearl industry. The method for inducing pearl formation was discovered first in JAPAN.
Gem pearls are graded according to size, weight, shape, colour and lustre. They are composed of about 92% calcium carbonate. The rest of the pearl consists of approximately equal parts of water and organic matters.
CORAL is a hard, limy, hornlike skeleton of various anthozoams and a few having animal life such as the red corals. The skeleton of these animals solidified into a strong mass of which many tropical islands, reefs, and atolls are formed.
Corals are found almost exclusively in warm tropical seas. A coelenterate having typically a hollow cylindrical body closed and attached at one end, and opening at the other by a central mouth surrounded by tentacles. Perhaps the most intensively corals are the many reef-building species native to waters of Florida.
Coral is usually opaque, red, pink, but often white, and is seen in beautiful branching or cup-like shapes. Both coral and pearl are used as gems.
