Verses 11-15Verses 7-10

IN BEFORE WE USED TO EAVESDROP
VERSE NO. 7-10
The words of the Jinns still continues that they said:-
``We thought as you thought that God will never choose anyone for His Messenger, nor will He raise up the deads. But in before, we used to sit up there on seats to eavesdrop. Nowadays that QurÌn has been sent down, if any of us proceeds to listen secretly, he will find a shooting star waiting for him.''

ORACLES AND METEORS
Before the revelation of QurÌn, the people sought divine guidance or foreknowledge of the future from oracles, such as the Apollo at Delphi which was the religious center of Greece, and the oracle of Zeus at Dodona.
Some other people sought guidance by contacts with spirits and Jinns. The sorcerers sometimes pretended to have imprisoned their slaves of Jinn in a bottle, and could use them as a servant! Some responses were also obtained through drawing lots. There were also individual seers and prophets and soothsayers.
Omens were also drawn from the flight of birds, and celestial phenomena like lunar or solar eclips.
Dreams were also regarded as supernatural, rather than of psychological origin; and their interpretation had a great and valuable office in communities.
Before the advent of Mohammad and QurÌn, most of people tried to seek the hidden truths of the unseen world through the above mentioned means and ways.
The perspicuous QurÌn which is plain to the understanding, in its very nature made clear and disclosed all the mysterious of falsehood with which priestcraft and pious fraud had over laid.
After the advent of QurÌn, when the Diviners, soothsayers and magicians wanted to ascend into the sky of the spiritual world to eavesdrop something, they found themselves encountered with shooting stars, which are the truthful verse of QurÌn.
Of course, the real sky over head too is physically full of meteors, and it is not that easy to go up and upper, without removing the hazards of meteor or gravity.
Meteors are debris of disintergating comets. None of them has been observed to have a velocity of escape from the sun at the earth's distance, which is 26 mi. per second.
Many streams of meteors revolve around the sun in orbits near those of the comets that produced them. Thousands of meteor orbits have been determined so far by the astronomers.
Showers of meteors occur at definite times of year when the earth arrives at the intersection of its orbit with that of the streams of meteors:-
``And that we touched the sky, but we found it full of gatekeepers and shooting stars.''
