This verse refers to some other conditions for our prayers to be answered - that, we should not do mischief in the land when it has been put in order, corrupting it again. ``Do not corrupt the land after it has been put in order.'' When our land is cleared of corruption and put in order, should we upset it by introducing evil and mischief into it, disturbing the comfort of our citizens and ourselves? The ending of the verse implies another condition through which God may show positive reaction to our prayers: 'Allah's Mercy is near to the good- doers.'' This implies that doing good to others, and in general having good deeds is another means for our prayers to be accepted and answered by our Lord. VERSE NO. 56
