THE PROPHET'S UNIVERSAL MISSION (VERSE NO. 158)

All the prophets before Mohammad S.A. were sent to certain folks, nations or groups of people; but Mohammad's mission is a universal one, and he is sent to any man who may hear his Message or his Quran may reach him:

``Say: `O, mankind! I am the Messenger of Allah to you all.''

Therefore the guidance which he has brought, through the light of QURAN, is for all mankind, and not a particular race or class of people or a certain nation like Arabs, or else. Here in this verse three attributes are ascribed to Allah, the Lord of Mohammad, whose Message he has to convey to all mankind. These attributes are:

1- He is the absolute owner. To Him belongs the kingdom of heavens and the earth.

2- He is the only one God, and there is no god but He.

3- He is the only Being that gives life and causes to die!

Therefore mankind has to believe in Allah, described above, and to His Messenger Mohammad - the unlettered prophet who was never versed in human learnings, and yet he was known to be the whole wisdom. He had an immense and unique knowledge of past, present, and future, and in particular the knowledge of previous Divine Books.

How can it be possible that a man unlearned and untutored, acquire such a strange knowledge without being inspired?

One of Mohammad's excellent qualifications was his pure and sincere faith in Allah and His words which is the Holy Quran. He also, seriously believed in his own word. He always, did it himself what he enjoined for others to do, and withheld himself from what he forbade others:

``Then, believe in Allah and his Messenger, the unlettered prophet who believes in Allah and His words.''

But man should not suffice with belief alone. No Salvation can be achieved merely by believing and having faith. One must also work for salvation, and do good deeds to obtain it. Faith and Act, are two wings of redemption. We must not only believe in the unlettered Messenger of God, but also to follow him and take him as an example too.
