THE RESULTS OF THE BATTLE Verses 21-25

The Glorious Qurän ends this narration by making a mention of the true believers and their behaviour in that awful field wherein the prophet, their leader, was the best of examples to be followed:-

``Verily there was the good example of the Messenger of God for he whose hope is in Allah and the day, and remembers Allah much.''

The prophet's patience, insight, leadership, trust in God, bravery, and high spirit, was the best of examples, for the believer and for Mankind to follow.

On the other hand the true believers too, did not lose their control in that hard condition when the confederates surrounded them. The prophet had already foretold that sooner or later, the different tribes of Arabs will unite against you to make a great confederate; but in that incident too, they will fail and Allah will grant you victory over them all. This was why as soon as they saw the confederates surrounding them they said:-

``....This is what Allah and His Messenger promised us, and Allah and His Messenger told us the truth. And it increased them not, except faith and submission.''

They thought to have one of two kinds of victories; either being martyred and join their foremost brothers in Paradise, or to defeat their enemies and enjoy their victory, and seeing the word of Allah prevailed.

The believers too, following their Divine Leader, had their trust in Allah, their hope in the life to come, and lived almost always with the rememberance of their Compassionate Lord. They stood firm and true to their covenant with Allah. Some fulfilled his vow and was martyred like; SAAD-IBN-MOAZ, the chief of the tribe of AUS and standard-bearer of Islam, who died of a wound that he received in the battle of Moat.

Other heroes such as HAZRAT IMAM ALI (AS), fought so bravely and lived. He always had his life in the altar of sacrifice for the cause of Allah.

Some other of the believers waited for occasions to approach, and did not change their mind the least, with regards to their covenant with Allah.

Eventually Allah turned back the non-believers while they were furious, severely frightened, and abandoned to despair for gaining nothing in their expensive military expedition. Meanwhile Allah had sufficed the believers of fighting and they needed not to shoot even one arrow out of their bows! And hence the slogan; ``ALLAHO-AKBAR'' = ``ALLAH IS GREATER''
