Verses 101-110Verses 95-100

ABRAHAM was charged for that heinous crime of smashing the gods; and was brought to the court and questioned. They said to him:-

``Oppressor is indeed he who has done this to our gods! Did you do that to them o, Abraham?''

In a cold blood and no excitement, he answered:- ``Why are you asking me? Perhaps the biggest of them has been angry, and done that to the smaller ones; why don't you ask him then?''

They went deeply through themselves for a while and realized how foolish they were; but the questioners who were most probably the custodians of the temple, soon brought to mind their own benefits and privileges they had from the idols and foolishness of people. So they said to the teen aged boy:- ``You know well that the idols are not able to speak.''

Abraham got the higher hand and said:- ``Fire on you and on that which you worship apart from Allah! Why should you then worship something or some one that can neither profit you, nor even harm you the least?''

After a pause he continued:- ``What! Do you really worship some pieces of stones that you have carved them yourselves!? This is a while Allah has created you and that you make it, including these idols of you.''

We all know that tyrants and dictators pay no heed to wisdom, logic, and reasoning. So when they failed in reasoning they resorted to violence and force. Instead of answering Abraham's simple and wise questions, they issued their decree to throw him into a blazing fire!

They did cast him into a huge fire, but Abraham's Lord was more effective than all that the idolaters could do; and frustrated them in their plot. their evil plot recoiled on their own head, and in their amazement their FIRE did not burn the righteous Abraham. He was delivered by Allah and then migrated from the country and prospered in Mecca and Jerusalem while his enemies were despised. He became the Arch prophet of God and the tutor of the angels, while his enemies turned to the fuel of Hell.

He left his home and heart in chaldea, and Babylon for the sake of his Lord Who was dearer to him than everything even his soul and son.
