Verses 57-62Verses 51-56

His logic, his various miracles, and the several plagues that he removed from Egyptians by his prayer to God, he deeply affected the environment and Egyptian's society; so much so that, it filled Pharaoh with anxiety and fear.

On the other hand the king's endeavour and childish reasonings failed to satisfy the conditions of logical proof that Moses had created. So the king who found his throne wavering, adhered to sophistry and fallacy and gave deceptively subtle reasoning in his arguments:-

``Is not the kingdom of Egypt mine, when so many streams from the river of Nile are flowing from beneath my palace, and I can bar your farmlands from the water, whenever i wish! Is Moses who is a stammerer better than me? If he is a prophet, why has he not been given a bracelet of gold!? And afterall! What does he really have except a shepherd's stick, a rugged and rough woolen cloak on, and his brother after him!?

Don't you see my glory! My power and wealth, my treasures of gold. My hosts, servants, slaves, and all. Am I better or Moses!?''

Pharaoh criticized that, Moses was not eloquent in his assertions, because there are traditions that he had a little impediment in his speech and had a light stammering.

Pharaoh's other object was the lack of bracelet of gold with Moses:-

Most probably among the distinguishing badges of authority, office, or honour, for the courtiers and leading men, was a bracelet of gold.

Almost all of them were materialists too, and judged the worth of man by his wealth and stock of gold. Therefore in the sight of Pharaoh.

Moses could not have any physical or spiritual position for having no bracelets of gold!

``And when they incurred our wrath we took vengeance on them, and drowned them all.''

God is very patient and may give His servant a good amount of respite, and several opportunities; but if we deliberately provoke His justice, and incur His wrath, His punishment shall become inevitable. So when Pharaoh's folk dealt obstinately and provoked God's justice; His punishment seized them, and they were all drowned and turned to a tale of the past, and an example for the future.
