The Explanation and the MessageExplanations

As we have discussed earlier some attributes of God have two sides; it can be the attribute of His being and the attribute of His deeds but they will have separate meanings.

The attributes “Qaahir and Qahhaar are just an example. If they are taken as “Qaadir” and “Qadeer’ then they are attributes of His being but if they are taken as His might and power as his activity then they will be construed as attributes of deed. (Reflect)

The authority of He who has unlimited powers will naturally encompass all things; all deeds will take place under His authority; nothing can obstruct His supremacy and no meaning will be complex and difficult for Him.

All the three attributes are present in the Qura’n so now we turn to them wholeheartedly.

Surah Anam Verse 18:

He is the supreme Lord above His servants. (1)

Surah Yusuf Verse 39:

Are gods differing from each other better or God, the One and the all Dominant? (2)

Surah Yusuf Verse 21:

Indeed God is predominant over all affairs but most people do not know. (3)

1. Qaahir has been used twice in the Qura’n in Anam 18 and 61
2. Qahhaar has been used 6 times in the Qura’n and every times as an attribute of God. Yusuf 39, Ra’ad 16, Ibrahim 48, Saad 65 Zumar 4 and Momin 16
3. Ghalib has been used 3 times in the Qura’n but only once as an attribute of God. The plural form Ghaliboon has also been used 6 times.
