The thing that makes life pleasant is the exchange of dialogue between men. If every one speak the truth, think straight, be just, be well wishing and respect each other then there will be peace all over the world. But when people resort to lies, false accusations, disloyalties, cheating, conning, chastising, rude and enraging then the lives of people with good character becomes unbearable and each moment for them is a trial.

Another feature of Paradise is that the people there will never hear lies or something evil and this is a great spiritual bounty.

Verses25 and 26 of Surah Waqiah say:

“They shall hear no frivolity or any sinful speech, none save “Peace and ever peace.”

Their greetings to one another, the angels greeting to them and the best of all God’s message of greeting to them full of love and sincerity.

The gathering of the Paradise dwellers will be full of peace and where this is (even in this world) it will be a replica of Paradise.

In verse 35 of Surah Naba the Book says:

“They shall hear no vain talk or any falsehood.”

The word “Lagwa” means vain talk or in other words it is a dialogue spoken without reflection. It is actually derived from “Lagha’ which means the chirping of the birds.

Many commentators have explained “Fiha” in two ways:

It reverts to Paradise.

It reverts to the cup which is mentioned in the previous verse.

The meaning is very clear in the first instance. In the second, it means that the wine in Paradise will not intoxicate or result in vain and loose talk. But the first meaning with “Fi” is more proper. The same meaning has come in a very short but clear sentence. It is said in verses 10 and 11 of Surah Ghashiya:

“In a lofty garden they shall hear no vain words.”

The Paradise dwellers will have sittings full of mutual love and indulge in other recreations full of pleasure, joking freely. Verse 55 of Surah Yasin says:

“Verily the companions of paradise on that day shall enjoy all that they do.”

The word “Shugul” means any incident of conditions that draws the entire attention of man but here it means play full of pleasure. The word “Fakihuun” which is the plural of “Fakih” also means happy and contented person.

It is derived from “Fukahah which means humor. The word “Fakah” is used for a sweet talking person.

It is clear that we do not know what the entertainment or business of the Paradise dwellers will be because we think of every thing according to the standards of this world. They may be engrossed in bounties that cannot be imagined in this world.

This business will make them forget the hardships of this world, the problems of the arena of gathering (Mahshar) and the separation from the close relatives. The commentators have categorized the business of the Paradise dwellers under 7 or 10 headings and this is because of the business of these commentators in this world for the environment there will be completely different.(1)
