The Unimaginable BountiesGod watching them and they having the beatific vision

Sometimes a host places all that he has before his beloved guests but normally these are the limited provisions. But when it is promised that he will receive whatever he desires then his souls is drenched in happiness because he now knows that he will not be deprived of anything.

This is true for both the material and spiritual and well material bounties of Paradise and some verse are more attached to the spiritual bounties e.g. verse 22 of Surah Shura after speaking bout the gardens of Paradise says:

“They shall have before their Lord all that they wish for. That will be a great bounty indeed.”

The terms “IndaRabbihim” and “Zaalika huwalfazlul Kabeer” are more attached to the spiritual bounties which have been mentioned after the material ones.

Verse 34 of Surah Zumar says without mentioning the material bounties:

“They shall have all that they wish for; with their Lord, such is the reward for those who do good.”

So there will be no limitations in the bounties of Paradise, material or spiritual.

Now these des c r i p tions as a sign tell us that the bounties of paradise will not just material and also that these bounties will be unlimited.

In other words we can say that God will bestow such powers in men that their wish itself will be enough to create what they desire. It is opposite to this world where the conditions have to be favorable for a person to attain what he wants. He can visit a garden of a desert only when the wind is favorable and the trees are blooming. The desire of man cannot make things bloom but on the hereafter his mere desire will be enough to present that thing by the grace of God. This is a unique reward. (1)

Some commentators who lay great stress on the beatific vision say that these verses speak about seeing god with these naked eyes. Who does not want to see God? (2) But their greatest mistake is that they do not want to accept that god cannot be seen physically for it is impossible because time and place is the criterion for the created and impossible for God. The dwellers of Paradise will never desire something that they do not deserve or which is impossible for them but observing the glory of God in the heart is possible here and there too.

Verse 35 of Surah Qaf speaks about this:

“From them there shall be whatever they desire and We have even more.”

The term “Lahum Maa Yashaa-uuna fiha” denotes this capacity. They will have whatever they desire and god has greater bounties than what they desire to which no human minds can reach. No One can understand this. Whatever will be given to them will be beyond their imagination. The gates to unlimited bounties will be opened for them and this cannot be described.

Some hadith tell us that the term “Wa laydaynaa mazeed” is a hint about Friday. The gates for special bounties will be opened for them that day. They will get 70 fold and 70 times more than what they have. (3) there are other verses in the Qura’n that express the same meaning. (4)
