One of the main features of an apostle as described and stressed by the Qura’n that they did not ask for any recompense or material gain.
This is what we have read in the 5th verse:
“No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the worlds.”
There are two other verses that say the same thing in favor of Noah:
(29, Huod,) (72 Yunus).
About Huod: ( 51 Huod and 127 Shuara)
About Saleh: 145 Shuara.
About Lot: 164 Shuara.
Shoaeb: 180 Shuara.
The Qura’n has mentioned this problem for our Messenger (90 Anam, 47 Saba, 57 Furqaan, and 86 Saad) (1)
In short Qura’n has stressed that the words of the apostle is without the need of any compensation. It is impossible to give the recompense for their efforts and their deeds.
The (apostles) say that they do only that which has been entrusted to them by God; He has made them His representative and this is their compensation.
The question arises here that was Solomon a true apostle or a king and was his enjoining the people for the material benefits when he was chosen by Queen of Saba?
“But verily! I am going to send him a present and with (what) answer the Messenger returns.” (Naml 35).
When Solomon received the gift from Queen of Saba he was happy and he did not clarify that it was something material. But we cannot accuse the apostle of desiring the material benefits of the world because he is just a representative of God.
We should attend to the fact that previously only 6 apostles have been mentioned and who are the great chosen ones. These features are not only for them but for all the apostles
