It is clear that the miracles of the apostles are very different and of various kinds so the objection raised is, are they included as a part of their deeds or is there a philosophy or idea behind it?

The doubt professed in this objection is very far fetched. It is evident that the Wise god has shaped the miracles after considering the time and place for each one of them in such a fashion for the apostles that every one of them has a lasting effect.

We find that the Holy Qura’n has been declared as a miracle for our Messenger so it has the following causes:

1. The Messenger has been designated for the entire mankind for all times and so a miracle that could never be doubted or challenged at any time was needed.

 2. He was unlettered and his bringing a book was nothing short of a great miracle.

3 The aim was to eradicate the evil from the society through its teachings and this was another great sign. We also find that the standard of Arab literature was full of their rhetoric and eloquence but could not produce something similar to the Qura’n and so they submitted before its eloquence and this is a very shining miracle.

It is the same for the miracles of Solomon and his vast kingdom where he ruled over the wind and the Jinns and knew the speech of the birds. His kingdom also included the entire mankind.

This was what was explained by Imam Reza in reply to the question raised by Ibnos Sokait. He said:

“God appointed Moses in the time when sorcery was rampant among the people and so by God’s command he brought the deeds to which the Egyptians had no answer. So he refuted their sorcery and established the proof of God

God sent Jesus at a time when various kinds of sickness inflicted the people and they needed medical help. So he brought that from God which had no equal among the people. He raised the dead by the permission of God; gave sight to those born blind and cured the leper, so he was able to establish the proof of God. In those days the practice of medicine was prevalent in society)

God sent the Messenger Mohammad at a time when oratory was dominant. He presented the Book of God that contained His commandments and guidance which rejected their literature and established the proof of God.”

When Ibnos Sokait heard this he said, “By God I have seen nothing like today” or “By God I have not seen anyone equal to you till today.”(1)
