verses 25-28verses 20-24

THEY EVEN FEAR OF THE WORD OF JIHAD!
VERSE NO.20-24
These are to clear the position of the faithful and faithless with respect to the command of ``Jihad'' when it was issued:-
``Believers say why has not a decisive Sureh been sent down? (to give a command for Jihad).''
On the contrary, the hypocrites were even afraid of mentioning the word of, ``JIHAD''. They so gazed at the prophet on hearing that, as if they were at their death bed:-
``You saw those in whose hearts is a disease, looking at you as if they are in the threshold of death!''
Hearing the name of war could shake them with fear. Their eyes and eyelashes stopped moving. They exclaimed:- ``What sort of a guidance is this! Peace, No; war, yes!''
Their disease of hypocrisy and their disloyalty to Allah, and His Message and Messenger was mainly due to their cowardice and want of courage, which prevented them to come on the mettle, and the end of such a conduct is no more than being ashamed and disgraceful.

On the contrary to them, the battle field was the field of love and tender affection in the sight of the true believers. It was a place of virtue and attainment, and a position of honour and success.
In other word: when the commandment of war is issued from righteous Imam in order to defend the truth and righteousness, believers will obey sincerely even if it would be at the price of their lives. But the hypocrites in whose heart is a disease, are not so. They are willing to escape fighting, or giving a help. Of course, Allah is able to do whatever He intends, and is never in need of a help from any one. But according to His general plan which has been designed on the basis of justice, grace, and free will of man, He is willing to test His servants, in order to make known their fidelity and faith, and reward them according to their merits and more, without giving room to any objection.
Therefore, we will have to prove our faith and fidelity, by our own efforts and sacrifices, if we wish to give a price to ourself.
The next verse (NO.22), gives reasons that, if you turn away from JIHAD, nothing can be expected of you except making mischief in the land and breaking the ties of your relationships, beyond which is the wrath of God and His curse upon you.
By our sincere strife we give no way to evil to get the upper hand. If we do not suppress devil, he will suppress us, and if he gets the upper hand, he will have no mercy on us; young or old, male or female! This is because devil is an avowed enemy to mankind.
In this respect, if we deliberately reject the guidance of our Compassionate Lord!, we lose His Grace and incur His wrath and His curse!
