IF THERE WAS AN ENCOUNTER IN HODAYBEYEH!?
VERSE NO.22-25
Here two points about the great event of Hodaybeyeh have been made clear:-
If the unbelievers would fight with Moslims; they would turn their backs and run away, because all their morale was broken and their hearts were full of doubts. This is the wont of Allah for such a people to be defeated in their fight, and it is also the will of Allah to help those who are sincere in their faith.
Therefore, GHORAISH should not think that the prey was at their door, and they did not hunt it.
The second point is that Allah revealed:-
``It was He who restrained their hands from you, and your hands from them in the midst of Mecca, after He had made you victorious over them; and Allah was seeing all that you were doing.''
In Hodaybeyeh, both parties were at the verge of a cliff from which they could fall in a dreadful abyss of war.
Quraish were determined to prevent Moslims from performing the rites of HAJJ, without having any reasonable excuse. On the otherhand, Moslims, though unarmed, had taken the strictest oath of fealty and fidelity to stand together and die for their cause if necessary.
It was in such condition that the All-knowing God restrained both sides from doing anything unwisely and through zeal and excess of enthusiasm. When the peace treaty was signed, both parties were saved from a great danger. God, always loves all His servants, but alas, that His servants pay not enough heed to this love.
