Verses 7-15Verses 1-6

MAN'S REPROACHING CONSCIENCE
VERSE NO. 1-6
The Arabic, ``LA=NO'' before the first two verses are not negative, and on the contrary, they are emphatic.
These two verses imply that there must be some sort of a relation between human's conscience and the Day of Doom.
God has deposited a conscience in the soul of Man which would reproach him for sin. But sometimes he suppresses his inner voice of reproach or warning, and pays no heed to it.
This conscience in the soul of Man is an expressive evidence that there must be a Day of reckoning.
In spite of having a conscience of such nature, it is too bad not to repent of past sins; and worse than that, is to reject a Day for reckoning. When we see that in the microcosm there is such a court of judgement and justice, why we should doubt that there must also be such a court in the macrocosm.
According to QurÌn, there are three stages of development for the human soul:-
1-The soul is at first, AMMARIH, which means a commander to evil deeds.
2-In the second stage, it becomes, ``LAWWAMIH'' which is a reproaching soul that resists evil and asks for God's forgiveness through repentance.
3-Then, the soul may become ``MOTMA-INNEH=assured'' which is the stage of self-confidence and having trust and reliance on God. Here, the soul achieves full rest and satisfaction.
