Verses 1-3Verses 1-7

THE OMINOUS CONSEQUENCES OF DENIAL OF RESURRECTION!
VERSES NO. 1-7
At first, the Prophet (SA) is addressed here mentioning the ominous consequences of denial of Day of Reward.
Then, the deniers are described as those who repel the orphan with harshness, does not encourage others to feed the poor and needy, pray while neglecting their prayers, are pretentious and refuse to supply the trivial necessaries!
Indeed, the society which is accustomed to ostentation neglects God, good morality and good habits, and even all of its social programs lose their substance! What a painful destiny such man and such society have!
Certainly, one of the causes of ostentation and hypocrisy is lack of faith on the Day of Reward and ignoring divine rewards. Otherwise, how is it possible for a man to ignore divine rewards and turn to the people and their satisfaction?
The trivial necessaries may here refer to what the people, especially the neighbors spare each other for lend or possession; like some salt, fire (matchbook), vessels and such like.
Obviously, one who refrains giving such substances to the others is very base and unfaithful, because he is so stingy that even spares giving such small things.
Prophet (SA) said: One who spares trivial and small necessaries from his neighbor, God will deprive him from His favor on the Day of Resurrection, and leaves him alone. What a bad position has one who is left alone by God!
